Newsletter: San Diego County dams old but still passing muster

For our latest installment of News in Numbers, inewsource takes a look at the health of San Diego County’s dams.

While San Diego’s aging dams have passed their latest inspections, government agencies make little information public about the threat a dam’s failure would pose.

According to the most recent available data, 20 of the county’s dams were considered high hazard, meaning failure would likely result in the loss of human life but that information is nearly 15 years old.
