KPBS, the npr and PBS affiliate, in San Diego and Imperial Counties, is our primary partner. The inewsource reporting staff is embedded in the KPBS newsroom on the campus of San Diego State University. Together, they form an Investigations Desk that distributes reports online, on radio and television. KPBS reaches about 1.4 million people per week.
inewsource is collaborative, not competitive and partners with other media outlets and investigative journalism centers nationally and locally.
They include:
- At least a dozen local, regional and national media outlets, from KGTV (ABC affiliate in San Diego) to the Center for Public Integrity, Huffington Post and msnbc.com (now nbcnews.com)
- The Investigative News Network, a national nonprofit umbrella with more than 70 members (inewsource is founding member)
- Regional nonprofit investigative journalism centers, from Seattle to Boston to Florida
