Three years after receiving a nearly $600,000 grant, MTS used the vehicles for less than 10% of what was required under the program.

Isaac is our Documenters Program Manager. He joined inewsource in July 2024 as the Documenters program coordinator. He is a San Diego native with roots in Tijuana, where he lived his early childhood. Isaac has experience as a reporter, an English as a second language teacher abroad, and is currently a part-time lecturer at San Diego State University in the School of Journalism and Media Studies. He holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from CSU, Chico and a master’s in communication from San Diego State University. He is passionate about the role that journalism plays in society and its power to hold people in power accountable. When not absorbed by news media, he loves watching soccer, reading and writing, looking for live music, and taking motorcycle trips. On occasion, he’ll leave the border region to experience other cultures.
