Mark J. Rochester joined inewsource in April 2021 as managing editor. Previously, he was editor in chief of Type Investigations, a national investigative newsroom headquartered in Manhattan. He has held senior management positions overseeing investigative journalism from New York to California, having been senior news director for investigations at the Detroit Free Press prior to Type Investigations. His career includes other senior leadership positions at The Indianapolis Star, Newsday, The Denver Post, the Associated Press and the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He held two terms on the national board of directors of Investigative Reporters & Editors Inc. and he currently serves on the board of the Mississippi Center for Investigative Reporting and is on the national advisory board of the Investigative Reporting Workshop at American University in Washington, D.C.
