From Documenter Maya Flores: The Encinitas Public Health and Safety Commission has approved the city’s latest plan for responding to its unhoused residents.
This will be the first update since the city adopted its Homeless Action Plan in 2021 as a strategy to address the needs of individuals and families experiencing homelessness. The new draft can be viewed on the city’s website. Councilmembers have ultimate approval over the update.
This year, the commission plans to hold a public hearing on the revised plan and collaborate with the Community-Oriented Policing and Problem-Solving (COPPS) program run by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, among other community-based organizations.
