On Friday, San Diego County Supervisor Paloma Aguirre and state Assemblymember David Alvarez met with more than 20 elected officials including U.S. Reps. Juan Vargas, Scott Peters, Mike Levin and Sara Jacobs to discuss coordinating efforts to address the Tijuana River pollution crisis.
“The County is taking action on everything within our control, but we cannot solve this alone,” Aguirre wrote on Facebook. “Now, we must turn our shared commitment as regional leaders into the urgent action our San Diego County residents deserve.”
“The sewage crisis is no longer confined to South San Diego, and it will take every level of government working together to solve it,” Alvarez wrote on Facebook.
Here are some reflections Aguirre shared with inewsource about the meeting.
