Mary Plummer is an investigative reporter at inewsource who covers infrastructure and government accountability stories. She’s been a reporter, editor and radio producer in Southern California for more than 10 years. Her reporting has ranged from major breaking news, such as covering some of California’s deadliest wildfires and mass shootings, to intensive beat reporting. In all her work, she values community connections, and fostering trust and long-term relationships.
Originally from Anchorage, Alaska, she holds a bachelor’s degree from Chapman University and a master’s degree with honors from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism. Her career in broadcast began at the London bureau for ABC News. She later was the lead political correspondent for KPCC – Los Angeles’ largest NPR station – during the 2016 and 2018 elections. When she’s not reporting, she’s likely at the beach or doing yoga.
