Roxana Popescu is a former investigative reporter at inewsource. Her reporting has appeared in The New York Times, The Washington Post, The International Herald Tribune, The San Diego Union-Tribune, Ms. Magazine, Travel+Leisure, The Paris Review Daily and Newsweek. Her articles, about immigration, opera, border enforcement, gun culture and luxury sheds, have won regional and national awards. She contributed to inewsource from 2010 to 2022. She has a B.A. from Yale University and a Ph.D. from Harvard University, where she wrote her dissertation about the balcony as a motif in poetry, prose and painting.

Before moving back to San Diego in 2008, she spent time in New England, Paris and Italy, with a few summers in South Texas and winter trips to Montreal (got the memo flipped on when to visit those last two). She speaks French, Spanish, Italian and Romanian and loves using these languages in her work. She plans to retire in Italy in 2060.
