Award-winning journalism is made possible by our supporters.

Your gift to inewsource is making an important statement: That you believe truth matters and trust inewsource to find and report it. San Diego and the nation need fearless, nonpartisan truth-tellers to uncover the facts about the decisions, policies and practices that affect our daily lives.

You can also support us via PayPal.

Employer’s matching gifts

Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. Most of these programs match contributions dollar for dollar, and some will even double or triple the amount of your gift. Please check with your company to see if it offers a matching gift program.

If your employer requires an Employer Identification Number (EIN) (i.e. Federal Tax Identification Number), please use 27-0732786.

Gifts of stocks or securities

Gifts of appreciated securities – including publicly traded and privately held stock and mutual funds – offer a two-fold tax savings because the donor is entitled to take a charitable deduction for the full current value of appreciated securities (held longer than one year), and is able to avoid paying the capital gains tax that would be due if the donor sold the securities.

To initiate a transfer of securities held by a brokerage or commercial bank, notify the broker or bank that you intend to electronically transfer the securities to inewsource. This can often be done online or you can download a PDF form to give to your broker.

Legacy and planned giving

Planned giving offers the greatest opportunity for our donors to make their largest gift to inewsource. Often referred to as an “ultimate gift,” it can help donors accomplish more through their giving than they may have imagined was possible.

A bequest is one of the easiest gifts to make. With the help of an advisor, you can include language in your will or trust specifying a gift to be made to inewsource.

For questions about planned gifts, please contact Donor Engagement Manager Alina Strauss at alinastrauss@inewsource.org.

Endowment fund

Our donors are planning for the future of inewsource as a sustainable and viable organization. In 2015, with a seed gift from two of our valued and generous donors, we established an endowment fund at the Rancho Santa Fe Foundation. As it grows through additional contributions and investment earnings, the fund provides annual support for both the current needs and the long-term sustainability of inewsource.

Donations for the Endowment Fund can be sent directly to:

Address:
Rancho Santa Fe Foundation
P.0. Box 811
Rancho Santa Fe, CA 92067

Checks should be made out to the “Rancho Santa Fe Foundation.” Please write “inewsource Endowment Fund” in the memo line.

Did you know? Now is a great time to give! The CARES Act incentivizes giving in 2020 with an additional deduction of up to $300 for charitable gifts. Thank you for your consideration!
